The Last Goodbye

Well pumpkins...this is it. The moment you have been waiting for since freshmen year has finally arrived. YOU ARE A SENIOR! Before you now lies all of the hopes, dreams, possibilities and aspirations you've thought about, talked about, worried about and maybe ignored for four long years.
So, naturally, our first blog question HAS to deal with that notion.
First, how do you feel now that you are finally here? Are you hopeful, scared, anxious, impatient?
Do you feel prepared to go out and face the world and all of life's ineveitable changes?
What have you learned in the past four years about yourself? Your friends? Your family?
Are your plans for the future set, or are you still trying to figure all that stuff out?
And finally, what do you hope to get out of your last year at Oakcrest? What about out of your English class?

Senior Year. It's finally here, what all high school students wait for throughout their whole high school carerr. And yet, im disapointed because it's not what the hype has brought it to be so far. Maybe it's because we have only been in school for 2 weeks, or maybe im just being lazy. Im very anxious to see what the future may bring to me this year (parties,classes,sports,etc..) So far this year it just feels as if the summer was one long weekend and im back at school all over again. I feel as if i was to go out on my own and face the world right now i would do perfectly fine. I have plenty of experience on my own, a job that will provide me with my needs, and friends and family for support. My plans for the future are almost 100% set, i know what i want to do for my career, what college i want to go to, and how i am going to pay for it. All that i have to do now is wait for my time to come. I have learned and taught my self countless times throughout the past four years. The one thing that sticks out to me the most is for me to be my self. Freshman,Sophmore, Junior year, i tried to be someone or act like someone that i wasn't. The older kids were my rolemodels and i looked up to them. Now that i am a senior, i am prepared for the young to look up to me and i am guiding them in a positive way.
The things that my friends have taught me the past four years is that your not going to always have the same people there for your whole life. I have became close too, and lost touch with countless friends in high school. There is no point on planning on going to college or getting an apt. with a friend because the chances of that are very slim.
The lessons that my family, such as my siblings and mom, have taguht me is that they will always be there for me no matter how well, or how bad i am doing.
This last year at Oakcrest, i hope to do well in all of my classes to keep up with my grades. As well as try to keep in touch with a select few friends. My first 3 years of English i've learned many things but what i expect this year is to right a perfect college essay so i can continue my plan and do what needs to be done in my life.

After 11 years of working hard in school we are finally here, our last year. This is suppose to be our funnist and easy year so for that im excited. But also there is a fear in the back of our heads of what were going doing after high school. Also i am very hopeful i hope that this year is easy and goes by fast but not too fast.
Many of us seniors didnt yet stop and think about how were going into the real world after this year. I myself have thought a lot about it and am ready for the obstacls life will throw at me. Some of us dont even know what they are going to do after this year but as for me i know and am ready for lifes ineveitable changes.
These past four years have changed who I am. I am a totally a different person by the changeless we face in high school. I have learned many things

Well, senior year. In away it seems to have come up so fast but then again in other ways it is a reward that is so over due. Over the last three years of high school I have spent over the normal five day week of school, and at some times the weekends also, more time at this school than at my home with my own family. I wouldn’t do it though if I didn’t love it. So, in just one more school year I’ll be accepted to one college or another. Getting ready for a new school with new people in maybe even a new state, so you ask me if I’m nervous and I would be lying to you if I told you that I wasn’t. I want to get out of this place called high school, don’t get me wrong I love my friends and I wish that they would be coming with me to this new place that I’m going to, but like I have said before in order to move forward you must leave something behind. What I’m looking for is a nice change of scenery, and a change of pace would be nice too. I need to be someplace where I need to be new I need to be wandering around clueless so that way I can learn more about my surroundings. I already know all the nooks and crannies of this school, where everything is and how everything works. 4 years in one place will do that to a person. I am not only ready for the future, I am exited for it. I bask in the challenge that is the unknown.

After three, what seemed to be never ending years, of waking up at 5:30 every morning, homework, and essays, it finally came, our last 9 and a half months left of high school. Honestly, it's a somewhat weird feeling for me at least right now. I feel like I'm ready to have already been done, out in the working world/college right now, but when I truly think about it I'm a little scared. I feel a decent part of me is ready to be tossed out in the "real world", but I'm completely thrilled I still have a few more months of preparation. I know growth is unavoidable, and I'm not saying I'd like to be able to avoid it indeed, but the world and things necessary to our survival change just as fast as the times. I do feel I'm ready for the most part, but it's a little overwhelming thinking in a few short months I now will be completely responsible for anything concerning "Allison Bertolino". In the past four years I can honestly say I learned my most half way through junior year, to present, about my self. I'm understanding the way the world is supposed to work more and more by the day, and I can completely say I'm on a real steady road to "finding my self" and it's plain to see. Friends have changed over the years as they do with everyone, but it's nice to have a steady group of good people who make you smile like there's no tomorrow, which I can say I'm very thankful to have. Planning for the future is a huge deal, and as much as I'd like to say I have every detail set in stone, I don't. Right now is a real period of growth, and I can feel it. My mind alters’ what I want to do everyday, because there really is so much I'd love to have the opportunity TO do, but life doesn't work that way. I'm still on the road to "figuring all that stuff out". Seeing as this is my last year of Oakcrest High school, I really hope it's a good one. I'd like to take in as much knowledge as I can and go on to the world as prepared as I can be. Making memories of the infamous "Senior Year" is a must do as well, everyone likes having 12th grade be they're favorite by far. Last but certainly not least, out of English class this year I hope to get a lot, and I have a strong feeling that won't be an issue. English is a subject one will use from here through out the rest of their lives, it's something very important to be good with. I'm pretty sure there's a lot of interesting and fun things yet to go on in our class this year, and I can't wait to see what becomes of it.

senior year is suppose to be the most important year because its timew to buckle down and get prepared to move on in the next step of your life. i am not postive of how i feel to be a senior but it is a great feeling to know that i am a senior finally. i can finally say that i will be succeeding one of my goals to graduate and be proud to know that i am not a failure. i wish i thought i was ready and prepared for the next step but i know in my heart that am not. Im not ready to know that i can only depend on myself its kind of scary. I can't wait for senoir year to end but at the same time feel that i don't want it to end. over these years i have learned so much about me and its a little freaky to see how much i have changed anf the friends i have now and then. i always tha=ought it would never change but i can't lie to myself it always change and it will never stop. i can say i miss somethings in tha past and something i don't but all i can say now is that its all in the past. my familes support means so much for me and their the main reason why im here today writing this. i have conquered so many challenge that ithought that i would but yes i did. I will still need my family to help me complete school this year but they won't complain. Im pretty positive of my future thoughts of school and career. i plan to got accc for two years and then transfer to cia for two more years. if you haven't notice i love cooking and i want to be a chef and own my own restaurant one day not in the beginning that will be too much of a challenge.i would loved to learn as much as i can from you that will help me progress on in my future that will make me happy. i just don't want to fail your class so im hoping you can help me with that. but you can tell that i am just a mellow girl trying to complete my goals one day at a time. so wish me goodluck bunje cause i might need it.

Coming from a big family were many didn’t attend college, I, Shanta Bouldin will be one of the first. Four years ago I could have never imagined myself in this position. I walked the halls as a clueless freshman, with my huge book bag, and hungry-ness to learn new things. As the years progressed this hungry-ness to learn faded. I slacked off with my grades and my once Honors and AP class's turned into College Prep. Despite this I still tried hard to keep my grades up and my dad was always reminding me that this year was coming up and it wasMY year so I needed to make the best out of it. Now this year is finally here. Scared, anxious, excited, I can't even describe how I'm feeling. I wish I wouldn't have slacked off but I do believe that my grades are good enough to get into Virginia State. Despite this excitement, I'm definitely not looking forward to living on my own. As many times as I've told my dad that "I couldn’t wait to get out this house" I’ve began to realize that the "safe haven" I'm so used to will be more than 100 miles away. I'll be on my own, and I definitely don’t think I'm prepared for what’s coming. Washing my own clothes, doing the dishes, and all the things I took for granted and allowed my parents to do will now be left up to me. But no matter what I pray that things will go as planned and this last year in high school will be the best. Planning to stay as drama-free as possible my senior year will be by far the best year. This school year I plan on learning a lot. I plan on improving my writing skills and I plan on making ALOT of new friends. In the past four years reality has really kicked in. Friends have come and go and I've realized that with out an education one is merely a person with no hope, no skills, and eventually with this growing economy, BROKE. I have no idea what the future holds, but whatever happens... lets just hope all the hard work and dedication was worth it.

Senior year is one of the greatest moments in your entire life. I can not tell you how many countless times I have been told this age old line. I myself fell some what nervous about actually being a senior. I fell that I have so much pressure to hold up all of the efforts I have made through out my entire high school career. If I fail to up hold the standard I have set for myself I not only let myself down but I let my family members down as well. There is a great deal of pressure that comes along with the title of being a senior. It has already started to affect me. Having to hear every person tell you about getting accepted into college, hearing how expensive college is going to be, and about the struggles about venturing into the real world called life on your own.
The world is a very large and scary place to be. But, yet I fell that I have prepared myself throughout my life to go out and face it on my own. Yes, of course it is nice to have your mom and dad there to pick you up off the ground when something goes wrong; but some day you have to be strong enough to do it yourself. I fell that I am strong enough to pick myself up off of the ground when life does not go my way.
Throughout my four years at Oakcrest high school I have learned a lot about myself. One thing being is that I am a stronger more independent person then when I started high school. One major thing I have learned is that friends come and go one day you may think someone is your best friend and the next day you turn around and you are no longer friends anymore. Life moves on with or without that person.
My plans for the future are pretty much set. I have my path pretty much set in stone with just a few unfinished ideas. But, I am pretty much set on what I want to do with my years to come in life.
In my last year here at the Oak I just hope to grow more as a person. To take everything I can from my senior year in high school. As I said before your senior year is suppose to be one of the greatest times in your life and I hope that comes true for me. In English I hope that I can complete and write fabulous college admissions essays to help me get accepted to the college of my dreams.

Now that Im a senior Ive been doing a lot of thinking about where Ill be in ten years. Theres no way Im scared because as long as I get my high school diploma I get a house with my boyfriend and his sister so that we can be closer to Brookdale. Brookdale is the college Im going for and Id like to become a technician or engineer. As for now, Im going to votec as a share time student and by the end of the year I will have my hairdresser's liscense! Its awesome because while I attend college I can work as a hairdresser. Of course that will eventually just be a side job since Im going to be making 50 grand a year. I already began my path of dreams and the possibilities when Im done high school are endless for me. Now that Im here I feel like it would be dumb to come all these years and drop out. If I want to follow through as planned then I absolutley have to earn my high school diploma. Thats really all Im dead set on right now. Ive already had experiance working and providing for myself so yea- Im perfectly prepared to leave my nest for good. Ive learned that whoever tries to use their negativity against me has to just be brushed off. Im doing this for me and me only. I learned that I am extremely strong willed,

When I look back to fresman year I recall standing at the bus stop shaking from being so nervous going to a new school. I thought about who am i going to talk to? Will I people start picking on me or will i find my way around quick?
That year was different for me, as it was for most of us. I was comfortable being the oldest kid in school, to then taken out of my comfort zone and being the youngest fish in the pond.
Now since I've become a senior i feel as if these four years just blew right past me. I've come to realize how much i changed, all the different people I talk to, how I look at others, and all of the friends I gained and lost. Before I used to follow in others foot steps and I don't now, I always wanted to fight somebody if they made me angry, and I didnt see what my fiends were really doing to me and hurting me. Since I'm older and it's a new year i realized I was just acting imature and how much my friend were draining me, so I booted all the bad ones out.
So, senior year is screaming in my face telling me I'm one step closr to being an adult and stepping into the real world, so what do I do now? For me my furture is still undecided. I really wnat to go to college to please my father, be the first child in my family to, and to be something great that you don't hear of often. I just have trouble of figuring out what I like to do. To experience the real world first is my goal for now when senior year is over. To have a real job, besides sitting in a desk all day, interests me more for the time being. As for my future it will all come together in time.

Over the years i've learned who's fake who's real, all the people i can trust, and how much my family actually cares about me. Now i know that's a little odd, but over the years i have come to bond with my mother, father, and even my once immature brother. Who i would like to add is pretty cool to hang out with now. I know that once i get out of high school i will become a member of the Air Force. Hopefully through the US Air Force Academy because of all the work i have put into that. If that were to fall through i would either apply for a ROTC program or just enlist. This year in oakcrest i hope to get something to remember. Something that i can look back on and smile, and my english class might just be that.

I am finally a senior this year. It has been a long trip but I made it. When I was asked what grade I was going into by my aunt I told her I was going to be a senior. Saying that I was going to be a senior just didn’t feel right. I had to stop and think to myself wow I finally made it to senior year. I was nervous and anxious to start all at the same time. I didn’t know what to think of it.
As of now I don’t feel that I am fully prepared to go out into the world. There are still a lot of things that I still have to learn. But even when I learn all there is to learn I don’t feel that I will be fully prepared. Life throws so much at you and some things you can’t learn until you experience it. So I don’t feel that I ever will be ready to just go out into the world.
In the past four years of my life I have learned different things about myself, family, and friends. I have learned that I can do so much more then I thought I could if I just take the time to sit down and try. I also have learned that I tend to put things off until the last minute. I have learned a great deal about my family through the years. I have learned that they are always there no matter what and they are so supportive. When it comes to friends I have learned a lot. I have learned that the people that you used to be friends with change and sometimes it is for the worst. The friends you had turn on you over little stuff and believe people that they have just met. Not all are like that though. There are still the friends that will back you up no matter what.
My plans for the future are not completely set but I still have an idea on what I would like to do. I would like to go to college and get a job as a computer programmer.
In my last year of high school I would really like to get a better grasp on myself. I would like to know that I really want to go through with being a computer programmer. With my English I would like to get more comfortable with my writing skills and even learn some things to improve it.

Now that I really think about it, I'm not so excited as I thought I would be. It's just still hard to believe that it's really here; senior year. Im always so used to being the little one in my family and my brother always making fun of how young I am, but now I feel like I can't be that younger little sister anymore. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy it's finally here. I really can't wait to get out of Oakcrest and begin my 'life'. I believe I'm somewhat ready to face the world, but I'm still not sure yet. I don't think I'll actually know until I'm out there. In the past four years I have learned a lot about myself, family, and others. I have learned to focus on myself and my needs more when needed. I have stopped caring about the little stupid things in life that won't even matter in the end. It has made my life just that much more simpler. As for my friends, I kind of hate it, but I'm not so much friend oriented anymore. As for a best friend, my boyfriend is my best friend now and I couldn't be any happier. My family has not changed much. They are just as supportive and yet pressuring as always, but they know when enough is enough. My plans are still in the mix between what college, majors, and career to persue. It's just a big mess jumbled into my head at the moment. The most that I hope to get out of Oakcrest and this class is wonderful memories and a head start for the future. That's all I could really ask for.

It feels great to feel that I've finally made it to senior year.I'm excited because this is my last year, yet I'm anxious at the same time because I can't wait to get into college and learn more about interior design. For the most part, I feel very prepared. My portfolio is very strong and consists of a variety of things that I'm good at. My grades are very good and so is my class rank. For right now,I'm in the thirty percentile in my class and my SAT scores are pretty good. In other words, I'm more than ready to face the real world. People from over the years have given me so much as far as education and knowlege, to get me ready for the very thing I face today. As I look back over my years, I've learned a good amount of thing about myself. For one, I love to help people. I like helping teach little kids and I like to do things in the community. Also, I found myself getting more into different styles of art. I like mosaic,Art Nouvea, Edwardian, and Victorian things. My family has been there and has encouraged me to keep pursuing my dreams and to never to give up. They've been really helpful with keeping me on track whenever I would get discouraged. My friends have also been very supportive and love the things that I create whether it be fashion things of a rendering of a room. My plans for the future are pretty much set into stone. I plan to apply early admissions into Arcadia, get in, major in Interior Design and minor in Modern Languages. While I'm there, I plan to study art history in Spain, and travel to other countries while I'm there also. After I graduate there with a BFA, I plan on going to SCAD to get my MFA. From there, I plan to hopefully work at an interior design firm. At my last year at Oakcrest I don't plan to get anything out of my senior year. As far as English class, I plan to walk away with an awesome college essay.

Senior year, so far it's everything i imagined it to be! At first it was great seeing people i have not seen all summer, but then it jsut felt like school again. The biggest difference in being a senior is walking around and realizing no one is a grade ahead, we are the big dogs now. I'm very excited about college, but at the same time i don't want to grow up and stay a senior forever. I want to be remebered in some way by the time i leave this building. I'm sort of prepared to go out into the real world. I know what it's like to have a job and know how to handle my money, but I'm not ready enough to make my own phone calls to big companies or banks and things of that nature. I learned that people change, some went down the road I chose not to travel, and others stood along side me. I believe I've become much more confident in my 4 years here. I wouldn't say my plans for the future are set, but i have a pretty good idea. As long as i get accepted to the couple colleges I'm very interested in. There are some things i have to figure out still. I want people to remeber me, specifically freshman. I knew when i was a freshman who the cool seniors were, and although they are a blur now, i can still remeber how certain people acted and how i looked up to them in one way or another. English has been interesting for me every year I've been at oakcrest. Although i don't read books on my own time, i still enjoy it, especially when we discuss the book in school. I can honestly say english is my favorite class and i will hopefully never forget my high school years. There are still a lot of questions i have about college, but lucky for me i have the class computing for college and i pretty much do all my college work in front of a teacher and she grades it and helps me out. She answers all of my questions and i recently just signed up for the ACT's, and SAT's for the third time hopefully if i do better i can get into Rutgers. I'm ready for college!

I feel pretty good and well accomplished that I have gotten to where I am now. It was a long process and lots of work, but feeling that I was able to get past all that, it now feels like I can do anything with my life.
I'm ready to get the rest of the year over with and exited to get out. I feel much prepared to go out in the real world and face all of its inevitable changes. I have gained plenty of knowledge and skills from my high school years and would be ready to use them in everyday life. I'm not worried about any of it, because I have plenty of people who I know will support me all the way with any decision I decide to make and they won't let me fail. I have learned that I can do anything that I put my mind to. I have changed my mind about a million times the past three years about what I wanted to do and was able to learn what my best choices are. I learned that my true friends and family will support and encourage me with those choices and decisions as well.
My plans for the future aren't really that set yet. I have a handful of schools talking to me, but I don't know which one I want to choose. I know the general field I want to study and what I want to get done in college, but after that, I'm not sure. I know where I'll live and with whom already, so my future is pretty stable I could say. As of how I’ll get there or what I’ll do with my life, I’m not too sure about. From my last year of Oakcrest, I want to get as much education as possible and use all of it to prepare me for the future. I would hope that I’ll get a lot of experiences as in social experiences and drama-type situations that can also help me from all the practice I have already received within the few years. From my English class, I want to learn more writing techniques and procedures that I could possibly be missing already from what could help me in the future. I hope to become a better writer and thinker from Mrs. Bunje’s class and be able to focus on what I need to do to get my life rolling in college and even for the future ahead of that.

After three years of waiting, I am finally a senior. The first feeling that occurred to me was happiness because I am on top now. All the cool things that I saw seniors do when I was an underclassman, are the things I get to experience now. I also look forward to attending college which is what I have dreaming about since I started High School. After the happiness, I felt nervous because in a few months I would be leaving home for college and entering the real world. My final feeling was sadness because in a few months I will leave this school and a lot of my friends for good. Looking back on all of my experiences I think that I will be ready to face the world. I think I have learned enough through my life to be able to survive in the real world. In the past four years I have learned that I have the best family and friends. I have learned that I really can do anything that I put my mind too. My plans for the future are vaguely set. I am definitely planning on going to college, but I am not sure which one. I am not sure about my career, but I know I want to do something with the Stock Market. What I really need out of this years’ English class is too improve my SAT English scores and become a better writer.

Now that I am finally here I am overwhelmed with excitement. My four long years here at oak crest high school are nearing their end. Although I am happy to be moving on in the world I am also sad that I will never be able to have the same experiences that I had during my high school years. The relationships, the summers, the parties and just all the days spent with my friends. Although I can still enjoy those times in adulthood, they will never be like my days in high school. The somewhat laid back attitude of the school and seeing all my friends every day will soon come to an end. I’m sure I will keep in touch with everyone but it will be much more difficult than just showing up to school. Those people who go away will make it even more difficult for me to keep in touch with them. I do feel prepared to go out and face the real world. I have looked forward to that for quite some time now. I’ve been slowly preparing myself over the years for the real world and trying to learn from all of my experiences to make me a better person later on in life. Yeah I am aware that there are some things I may not be ready for but I am positive I will be able to overcome those challenges and move on with my life. I have learned a good amount about myself. I have learned my outlook on life, the kind of decisions I should make, and many other things. I also have learned which friends will stay true and which ones are just more of school acquaintances.. I didn’t learn much about my family other than they have been the same and will remain the same way they are and I like it like that. All my plans for the future are pretty much set. Of course nothing is definite because anything could happen in the next year, but if there are no setbacks I have everything lined up where I want it to be. I hope to get a better understanding of people out of my last year at oak crest and I hope to be more prepared for real life outside of these walls. Lastly, I hope to get the skills I need for college writing out of my English class.

Senior year is supposed to be the most memorable year of your high school career. But to me it means getting serious and no more goofing off. I'm excited but at the same time nervous to see what new chapters will begin for me this year. This year I'm focused on college and getting the best grades I can get and make the most out of my last year. I have a set plan for college and I know exactly what I want to major in; I want to be a dental hygienist. However, my problem is that I'm the biggest procrastinator ever. This year I plan to break that habit and so far so good.
I am starting to get nervous as I begin to get emails from colleges. There's always that scared thought in my mind of what if I don't get into a good college. The thought of college means stepping out into the real world and becoming an adult. I really don't know if I'm ready for that. I do believe that when the time comes I'll be able to handle college and the responsibilities of adults well but the idea still scares me. My family and my friends are my biggest supporters. They believe in me and give me the extra boost I need to reach my goals. My family has always been there for me but even more now that it’s my senior year. They help me decide which college is best for me and cheer me up when I get overwhelmed with SAT’s and college preparations. They have also helped me find myself and who I am these past 4 years. I’ve realized that I’m stronger and smarter than I thought I was. Freshman year I didn’t have the biggest self confidence. I took honors classes and I didn’t think I was smart enough nor had enough determination to do well. Now I look back on that and with the reassurance of my family and friends I know that I can succeed at anything I do including finishing my senior year with flying colors.
Overall I just want this year to be a serious but fun year that I can look back on and be proud of. I want to learn how to develop my writing skills in English and be able to write college application essays with no problem. I really think this is going to be a good year for me and I’m excited that senior year is finally here.

Finally, this is it. Our senior year! Everyone has come a long way since freshman year. To me, it feels like it came so fast...Maybe too fast. It’s different now because there is no one older than us anymore and instead of looking up to people we are now role models to all the new freshman this year. Hopefully we can be good role models and do a good job leading them down the right path as seniors. I am both scared and anxious to see where i go after i graduate because after this it's all business. The whole world is out there waiting for us. But at the same time I feel somewhat prepared to face the world only because i know what i am doing after high school. You learn alot about who you are during high school. You find out who you truly are. Wether it’s your style, personality or whatever it may be. One thing that many people do wrong is try to act like someone they are not. If i would have to give advice to anyone it would be to just be yourself. Throughout my four years of high school i have realized who my true friends are. There are some that come and go but then there are the ones that stick by your side. Those are the ones that mean the most. They are always there for me and i will always be there for them. They have been there all four of my years and I hope to never lose them. One thing that scares me is that i will lose some of my friends after high school because college comes and people leave and things start to fade. I will try my hardest to stay close with all of them. But before that my family comes first. My family has supported me since kindergarten. I appreciate all their support and what they have done for me. They have never let me down and guided me down the right path, helping me to succeed. I'm pretty sure on what i want to do in the future. I know what college I'm going to and what i want to do as a career. After college i plan on having a steady job and eventually have a family. In my last year at Oakcrest i want to be involved and soak up my senior year as much as i can because before we know it will be over.

I am so happy that I am a senior, it feels so good. This is where I am going to have to take everything serious and play no more games because after this I am leaving and going to college, I have to be prepared and work to very hard. I am prepared to face the world out there, to tell u the truth I think it’s going to be easy I might have difficulties in some areas but I am going to fight through it. I am will be prepared for everything thanks to all my teachers, friends and family, I learned so much from them. I have learned to always stay strong, and also never give up and to keep trying until I make it. the mainly thing that I have notice about myself is that I am really shy and I am nervous most of the time I don’t know why, I love talking to my friends but when it comes to school where I have to talk or read I feel really nervous. But this year I have a feeling that I am going to pass that and learn how to not be nervous. I family have thought me a lot and I remember my mom told me to always be constant and never stop moving, if I want something go get it no matter what and don’t let no one stop me from getting it. I am not really set for the future, but I do know that I am going to be a dental hygiene and also going to college no matter what. I don’t really know what college I am going to because I haven’t got into it really. But this is the time to do it, this is when I am going to figure out my future and everything. I can’t want to go to college and finally be what I want to be. At the end of the school year I want to obtain everything I need to know. I want to be able to speak my mind and never to be nervous. I would also be able to get to know everybody and be comfortable with the people in my classes. I also know that Mrs. Bunje is going to teach me everything that I would need to know for college.

Words can’t explain how I feel about being a senior. I have so many emotions traveling through me. But overall I am excited, I feel so independent and well developed about life. I am kind of confident about stepping out in this corrupted world. To me this kind of feels like I am starting a new chapter in my life. I can’t wait to go to college so I can achieve and watch and watch all my goals fall into place. My goals for the future are to be able to manage my own salon successfully and as well be an account on the side. I feel extremely convinced about managing my own salon because in a couple of months I will have my permit for cosmetology and in may I will have my license. So things are looking very positive so far. My plans for the future are pretty much set but I am still trying to figure what college I am going to get into. Which is major around this time, I know I need to start looking for a couple of colleges. Four years within these high school walls I learned a lot about my self. I mainly learned how to control my anger and to walk away from pointless conflicts which are helping me in the long run. What can I say; I just know that I matured. What I want to get out of my last year of Oakcrest is to just have fun this is a once in a life time things I don’t want to look back and whish I would of did this and that so I am going to life this year to the fullest. As well as my English class I soooooooooooo glad that I got placed in here because I know I am going to have a good year of ENGLISH 4.

I feel anxious to finally be in my senior year I can’t wait to see what will come next but at the same time I dread the day I will have to wake myself up walk with my own two feet on my own no bell to tell me when no teacher/ hall monitor person to tell me keep it moving. No number of years can prepare you for what comes next. As we now prepare to face the unforeseen future. It is now about 13 days into my 13th year of school and I still haven’t been able to fully grasp the fact that life will be different especially come next September. It will take some getting used to because of change. Life is a funny thing because no one, no matter, how hard they try can be ready for every thing that may come there way. I am prepared however for the unexpected these four years at "The Oak" has taught me how to always be ready for the unexpected cause it will appear when you least expect it. It’s pretty funny and I know that in saying the unexpected comes when you least expect it sounds pretty redundant but when you think further into it and realize that u need to expect the unexpected because if you expect the unexpected the unexpected no longer exists. For this I am always on the “d” because you just don’t know what might be on the turn of the corner. So am I ready for life’s inevitable changes? “Not really”, but expecting them to arrive and braced for them? Check. In the last four years I have learned that life is fragile I’ve seen and experienced just how fragile a thing life can be. I have learned that to continue on you can’t dwell in the past or let the present scare you and you have to almost rely on something or someone greater than any other to get along. As for my future I am still indecisive in what I am going to study where I am going to work and in all other endeavors except for one. I have chosen to travel the path less traveled and follow the word of God. I still don’t know where he will lead me but I believe my calling has to do with missions and traveling the world helping others find someone Greater to rely on to get along. And in this last year of school I hope for nothing greater than an enhancement of knowledge and I know you will do that you always do.

Senior year. Wow. I still remember freshmen year like it was just yesterday. The last three years have gone by so fast. I still remember the first day I was sitting in 204. You wrote your name on the board and introduced yourself. At that point, I was somewhat unsure of you. Teachers are not always the type of people that I easily open up to. But you were different and I grew to trust you and see that you always did what was in the best interest of your students. And wow, what a difference your class was from freshmen year with Mr. Gallagher. And now this is the third year in your class! Now that this is the last year of high school, as much as I want to be over, the overwhelming feelings of being an adult are really beginning to hit me. I used to be so anxious to grow up, but now that adulthood is right around the corner, it is kind of scary. I am hopeful for the future. I am hopeful that I will be successful and be able to face some of the biggest changes of my life. Over the last couple of years, I have learned a lot about myself. I have found myself to be a lot stronger when I am put in hard situations but have taken a lot of easy ways out. My friends are the same group of friends that I have been with all through high school, and therefore I can see that our relationships will last well through adulthood. Amber, Kylie, Morgan, Niah and Deanna. The fabulous five. We know each other, trust each other and truly love each other like sisters. My family has accepted the fact that I am growing up and even though it is hard to let me go sometimes, they know I am responsible and can make good decisions. My plans for the future are kind of unpredictable. I know I want to go to college, not exactly sure for what, and I know I want to be the best I can be at whatever I chose to do. During this last year at Oakcrest, I hope to experience some of the best memories of my life that I will carry on forever. I have been waiting a long time for this year and now that it’s here, it is my time to shine.

So i'm finally a senior, and i'm extremly dissapointed. Senior
year feels like freshman year, we are entering a new world and exploring new things. I guess that in a way the pressure of life hasn't completly hit me. I feel like I have a slight disadvantage compaired to other students because instead of my family letting go over the past four years, they have pulled me in closer. But personally I want to get out of my bubble and explore the world, I am anxious to see what I can do in this world as a indvidual. I have learned so many things about myself over the past four years and I have grown a lot as a person. I have learned that i'm a lot stronger on the inside then I could ever imagine, that i'm never going to be perfect, and that what I am somehow makes a difference. My future is already planned, but sometimes plans can change. I hope mine go through, but
if I know one thing about myself, it's that I get frustrated easily. During my last year at Oakcrest I hope to join NHS and have as much fun as I possibly can. In English I hope to learn more about myself, and take in as much as I can with my eyes wide open.

Everyone talks about senior year being so different than any other year that you ever had, but so far it feels like last year just that I have new teachers and a new schedule. Hopefully I’ll start to feel the excitement soon, but right now I feel anxious and a little bit scared about getting into my dream college. Once I do get into my dream college, reality will probably start to hit me and I’ll start worrying about all the real life problems like how am I going to manage my money and what if I am late for classes. But knowing myself I think I can handle those problems when they come. When I was a freshman if I had to think about all those problems plus pass all my classes I think I would go crazy. Now that I am a senior and I’ve lived through all the unthinkable I can proudly say that I am much better than my freshman year. Also, I’m probably the way I am because of my great friends that I’ve had in the past. Most of my friends were the complete opposite of me, they either loved to talk and were wild and crazy or they were calm and didn’t care if they got in trouble or not. My family and I are very close and although we can get on each other’s nerves we still look out for each other. When I go to college it will be hard not hearing my family every night, but I guess you have to separate yourself so that you can go and become successful. My parents have been a real big help with all the college planning and college trips that helped me decide which colleges that are right for me. So far, thanks to my family, I have some idea about my future. And if my plans work out I will become an Interior Designer and own my own business. First I have to graduate from Oakcrest and that is a whole school year ahead of me. But hopefully this year I’ll have fun with all the senior events that are coming up and hopefully this year I will get straight A’s all year round. The class that I’m really going to work hard in is English because this is my last year where I will have the chance to learn how to right a proper essay before I have to go into the real world and depend on myself. But in the end this senior year should be a blast.

Senior year, man what everyone always talked about as soon as they passed their junior year. Yeah it should be the most exciteing year of your life and important, to me it seems like another year at oakcrest so far. Senior year has not come up and hit me in the face yet, but i know when it does its going to hurt bad. I know that this year sets the tone for the rest of my life. Its like the first play of your first game, it shows how the season is going to go. I am not going to leave oakcrest empty handed though which is a good thing. I came in to oakcrest with a good mind set and plans, man how they have changed. I have learned that life is not always going to deal the cards you want, and that you have to play with what you get. Unless you fold and you miss out on a lot of new things and exprinces. A wise man once told me that "Hard work beats talent, if talent doesnt work hard" and that is the quote i live my life by. I also learned that two of the greatest teachers teach at this school. Now I am not saying this to butter ether one of you up but its Mr. Erney and Ms. Bunje. If it was from football to history Erney knew it all, he was always the one that i looked for when it came to answers. Bunje was the one I went to when it came to social problems and always knew what to say and always had the right answers. Senior year has many more tricks up its seleve, and they have prepared me for it, I'm ready.

Finally Class of 2009 has arrived. I’ve been waiting for this year forever it seems and then I blinked and bam! Its here. So much I thought I knew and finally realizing I had no idea. I came to oakcrest a little freshmen not exactly sure of what was to come. I have learned a lot about myself, my friends, my real friends, and who I want to be. Now that this year has arrived I have mixed emotions I’m excited, scared, and kinda sad. All I’ve known for four years will no longer be my home I will be thrown into a new life with new friends and new problems that will teach me even more about who I am and the world around me. Im excited because life isn’t sunny mays landing and I can’t wait to learn and experience. My junior year was a huge part of my highschool career and I really met a hand full of people who have changed the way I think, love, act, and define myself. I’m sad because moving on means leaving them. For me unlike most seniors plans just seem to be falling into place, if you asked me for years ago where I wanted to go to college I’d say howard u. Now at 17 years old I want to be a graduate from the United States Naval Academy and though it may be hard one thing oakcrest taught me is I’m a lot tougher then I look. I really just want to have fun this last year and prepare myself for the rest of my life if that’s possible.
As far as English is concerned Bunje always gets the job done so no worries. She is a major part of the writer I am today. I’ve developed a style all my own that I can appreciate, I’ve learned that I am a way better writer than I thought. This year will help me better my skills and techniques. Also I plan to learn more about myself Bunje’s class always has a way of helping you find answers to questions people go there whole lives trying to figure out.
And really I just want to reach out to people I may lose and really have no regrets for this year I think it’s going to be pretty awesome.

After three long years in Oakcrest High School my senior year is finally here. This year is an important year for me as well as for every other senior. I have to make crucial decision about college that will determine my future so I’m a little nervous. I fear that I’ll lose contact with some of my friends. On the other hand I’m anxious to graduate and move on to something bigger.
I feel that I’m pretty prepared to go out and face the world. I’ve always been very independent since I was a young boy so moving away from my family doesn’t worry me much. In fact, some space from my family might be good for me since I feel like my parents are around me too much. I’ve developed more in these last four year then I have the thirteen before them. I’ve gone from a shy young boy who sat in the back of the class room and didn’t talk to anyone, to an outgoing outspoken young adult always looking to meet new people and experience new things. I’ve learned who I am, what my dreams are, and where I want to go in life. I’ve realized that my parents are always there for me even though they want me to follow there goals in the future rather than follow my own. I’ve also found that friends come and go and not all of them are as trustworthy as I thought, but the ones that stick around and are loyal, reliable friends, well they are worth the world to me.
My dreams for the future aren’t set in stone yet. As part of my philosophy I like to roll with the punches and just go where life leads me. I’m very passionate about playing and creating music and would love to have a profession dealing with that, but if that doesn’t work out, just keeping it as a hobby would suffice. In the remainder of this year I hope to expand my knowledge and prepare for college and life in general. I would also like to figure out what I want to do and where I want to go for college. I think that this English class will be very beneficial when it comes to looking and preparing for college as well as helping me see things from a more creative perspective.

After 11 years of working hard in school we are finally here, our last year. This is supposed to be our funniest and easiest year so for that I’m excited. But also there is a fear in the back of our heads of what were going doing after high school which none of us want to think about. Also I am very hopeful I hope that this year is easy and goes by fast but not too fast.
Many of us seniors didn’t yet stop and think about how were going into the real world after this year. I myself have thought a lot about it and am ready for the obstacles life will throw at me. Some seniors don’t even know what they are going to do after this year but as for me I know and am ready for life’s inevitable changes. These past four years have changed who I am. I am a totally different person because of the challenges we’ve faced in high school. I have learned many things in my high school career like relaxing. Everyone student comes to Oakcrest their Freshmen year all tense and nervous but after a couple years I have learned to relax and not to make things such a big deal. Also I’ve learned that you have to stick with your true friends. Never let anything to come in between you guys and also to trust them. They are the people you can rely on in troubled moments and are the ones that can always save you. I have learned that my family really cares about me going to school. My parents always ask if I need help and are more then welcome to give it. For my future I have most of it set but am not sure about some stuff. I want to be an Air Traffic Controller and I want to enlist into the Air Force right out of High School. It’s not 100% yet but it’s something I really want to do. This year I hope to get a better understanding of the world and a good education. I hope that by the time I graduate I am ready for the real world and am ready for anything. English Is a very important class and I hope that this year I do very well and learn cool and new stuff and read interesting books. Also this year I have a great teacher for English and she is a very smart woman and will definitely teach me many things I will use in life. Hopefully this year will be a easy and fun one and be the year we talk about for the rest of our lives.

Even though I am a senior I don’t feel as if I am not. This school year feels like just a continuation of last year but with different teachers. However, I am anxious. I am anxious to be leaving the typical everyday school in the morning. I want to get away from NJ and go somewhere that no one person knows me. I want to travel. Before I travel I want to complete four years of college and become an architectural engineer. I feel as if this will be a good field of work for me. I believe I am able to go out and function in society without the help of some one. However I would much rather wait until I was out of college and go from there. Lives inevitable changes are a thing that most people go through. These changes I think will come as I move on from high school to college and I become more independent on myself instead of needing other people. In the last four years I learned that most people change even though you might not notice right away there are ways to see. Looking back in to the past is a way that I recently seen how I have changed over the years. I have become more mature and I have more of a drive to complete my goals no matter how hard they are. For instance the way these blogs are. In my sophomore year I had no want to do these or any of the work for Miss Bunje. Now I have an effort put forth to do some work and show her that if I put my mind to it I can accomplish anything. However, my friends have also changed not always in a good way but not really for the worst. We have all grown apart but we still manage to keep things close I still don’t talk to everyone and I am not very outgoing. I wish to gain more than just the grades and possibly new knowledge I want to gain friendships that will last forever. Out of English class I want to have a better grade than I have had since I started high school. I also want my favorite English teacher to always remember me. Not only the me from now or sophomore year but as both. The slacker the first year she had her own class and the student that graduated with an effort put forth to make her happy. I love you Miss Bunje I will miss you when I graduate love Stephen Michel

After three long years, im finally at my last year. I was always told by my father, that my high school year was going to fly pass me before I know it. But I didn't expect it to come this fast. im kind of anxious to graduate, but im also scared to get out in the real world. All my life i've had someone to live with. I never had to pay for any bills, or worrying about getting food for my place. But once i graduate and go to college, all of that will change.
My dad always tried to teach me things about the real world outside of high school. Everything I need to know about how to survive on my own, I was taught by someone in my family so i would never depend on someone else to do things for me. So overall i believe that im prepared to face life.Over the past four years, i've learned that you are the company you keep. I've learned that I could sometimes make some stupid decisions, by following after the things my frinds did. But i got my act together and started acting like the leader that I am. My family stayed by my side all my life, even through my down falls. They payed for expenses they couldnt affored for my future. So that showed me how much they realy do care. Im still kind of confused on what I want to do with my life. I know that i either want to go to college for music or art. But figureing out what im going to do with my tallent is the hard part. Hopefully i'll figure it out before I graduate. I want my last year at oakcrest to be layed back. I don't want any stress for my last year. I went through the fustration enough my last three years. I love the way my english class is going so far, i just want it to continue and i want to getas much knowlege about literature and proceed with my life.

Now that I'm a senior I feel excited about going out to the world to start the rest of my life. My teachers and parents have been prepareing me for this moment for my whole life and that time has finally come. If it wern't for the teachers I've had and my parents I probbly wouldn't be ready for this moment. Right now though I am focused on school and fire acadamy. I want to keep my grades up so that I can get scholor ships and go to college and become a scientist or join the military. This year will go fast and come graduation I know that I will be prepared for the rest of my life out in the world.

Senior year is finally here, and it is like a sign of relief as well as a personal achievement I have just accomplished. It is like every since I stepped into high school the main goal was successfully graduate high school. Now my goal seems twenty times closer. All the years of hard work I put into high school is finally going to paid off. It is like paying off one of the biggest debts in your life.
Personally I feel as though I am capable of doing anything I want to, as long I as make a commitment to do what I got to do to get the job done. As a young adolescent I know I’m not prepared to go out on my own and face the rest of my life without any problems. "Nobody is perfect."
The past four years hit me hard. I’m definitely not the person I thought I was. Mostly I matured in the past four years, that was my biggest change. I no longer get caught up in the mix with other people. I stay in my zone and do me, and let the other people worry about themselves. I’m less of the person people hate, and more of the person people want to be around. I am more of a friendly person.
My list of people I call friends dropped. It's not that we are not friends. They are the people I’m "cool" with. My main friends I see almost everyday, some rarely, and others I wont be seeing in a while thanks to college. I learned that my friends are close no matter how far they are.
With my family I learned how close we are. I never knew how close my sister holds me to her. She claims to be my "number 1 fan." My mom seems so distant, but it always right by me in my times of need.
My plans for the future are set, but they are not concrete at this moment. I plan to go to college and better myself in every aspect of life. I plan to take college serious, because that's how serious it’s going to get.
In my last year at Oakcrest I plan to know everything that can successfully get me out into the real world. In my English I want to know everything that can get me into college the easiest way possible. It's my last year at Oakcrest and the only way to do it is to go out with a bang !

I've had senioritis since sophomore year. I can't say I'm impatient because these are the supposed "years to remember" and I don’t want to look back later on in life regretting how I feel as of this moment. I will not say I'm feeling scared because to me, it's just another year. I guess I'm just anxious to see what goes down. Within the last four years, I've learned that I have more potential than I originally thought and the insecurity I once had is becoming less and less. I used to have so much self-doubt but as time went on, many realizations came to be. For example, I feel like physically and emotionally, I have "found" myself a lot more than most people. I’m able to define a little bit more of who I am within the short eighteen years of my life, which is a huge accomplishment in my opinion. I also grew more independent and more respectful and appreciative as time went on. I guess this all comes along with the adult process. On top of all the examples I’ve given, I know what I want, whom I want, and where I want to be in my life. One of my biggest lessons by far is seeing how many friends I’ve grown to love, hate, lost, and cherished. I end up wondering in amazement on how year-by-year, the quantity tends to become smaller and smaller with the hope of my present loved ones graduating with me, my past loved ones wishing they were still with me, or the unfortunate lost ones risking their future. I wish them all luck as I wish myself luck to survive my last year of high school and to not screw up anything good I have going for myself. Having various options that I’m still indecisive about, one is actually being to teach English in foreign countries. I know as of this moment in time, having verbal diarrhea and nocabulary may not seem as if that goal would be nothing more than a mere dream, especially when my grammar is all sorts of retarded… but to me, I believe in living one day at a time and seeing if things will really go that way or not. A permanent plan after high school though is definitely working at a salon to put myself through college (Crossing my fingers that everything will be okay). Not only have I learned more about my friends, or myself but about my family as well and how much I appreciate and respect them sticking by my side through a couple rough times. When it all comes down to it, the biggest realization in my life right now is that I’ve definitely become more open-minded, have a better sense of judgment, and am still just growing, hoping, living, and learning. And even though I’ve had extreme ups and downs so far within my high school career, I hope this year will make up for the last three. Overall, in the end, I can’t wait to see what becomes of all this. Really, I can’t wait.

Hmmm… So it's finally here. The past 3 years have blown by at what seems like supersonic speeds, and yet every upcoming year seems like it will take forever to get over with. However, ever since the first day I stepped foot into Oakcrest I swore to myself that I would make the absolute best of each and every day that passed, and I can say that I have done just that. There is not a single moment that I regret, or did not enjoy during my high school career. Most people complain and say things like “ahh why can’t school be over already, I HATE IT!” but when you think about it after this we are dumped into the working world. We have to fend for ourselves, unless we decide to further out education in college. So I figure why complain when I’m not paying bills or worrying about taxes or trying to find a way to supply a family with dinner, which is why I am keen of high school.
I suppose I am anxious to find out what I will become in the future and if I will succeed, but as of right now I want time to go by as slowly as possible. I think this year needs to be extremely memorable so I feel the urge to go all out and enjoy every second of it. To be honest I think o could handle the real world, but I just don’t want to. I’m a kid now, and never will be again so I am taking advantage of being sheltered from the world and its evils. I accept that growing up is inevitable and when the time comes I will be prepared to go out on my own and life the adulthood part of my life to the fullest.
As far as the last four years, well I suppose I learned a whole lot about myself. I’ve learned that I put my friends before myself too much on a regular basis, and although this isn’t really a bad thing it has become clear to me that almost everyone is out for themselves and will screw over whoever necessary to get what they want. However, I still find myself helping out friends when I should be trying to fend for myself. Another thing I learned is that I am an extremely awkward person, but it is actually in a pretty funny way and as long as I make people laugh and lighten their moods I don’t care how weird I seem. Also, I found out I am terrible at answering my phone. No matter who the person is, I just never answer phone calls or respond to most texts, there is about a 75% chance that you won’t hear back from me and this isn’t something I am proud of but it’s just how I am for some strange reason.
My family and I used to fight a lot, pretty much everyday. I suppose being nice to everyone else all day, everyday just made me negative emotions build up and I would fight back with my parents whenever they criticized me or yelled. I am finally starting to realize that I really have to stop this, and I can proudly say that I am making progress everyday, for we haven’t fought in about a month. Along with my family, I realized that they just care about what’s best for me, no matter how much they like to nag, nag, nag and attempt to push me to my fullest potential; which I have still failed to reach, I really don’t know how the Pete who tried his heart out would make out but I suspect that I could probably be number one in the class, not to sound cocky or anything.
My plans for the future are nowhere near set, since I still can’t completely decide on what I want to major in, or where I want to go to college, or how long I attend college, or anything else. I am just dealing with what life throws at me for the time being, and I know that this will probably lead to my impending doom. Nevertheless, I do know that I want my last year at the Oak to be the greatest ever, for never again will I have the opportunity to be a senior in high school again and after this year it’s all over. I will be an adult and if I by some ridiculously stupid decision miss out on college then I will be forced into the hard, cold working world. I also know that I just want to be able to enjoy English class this year. I have no problem writing papers and thinking about extremely deep ideas because it could be much worse, and I actually enjoy writing… sometimes ;)

For three long time consuming years one thing was constantly reiterated into our heads, “SENIOR YEAR WILL BE THE TIME OF YOUR LIFE.” Now that it’s here it feels the same as every other year, just with more rules. Waking up at 5:30 every morning, rushing to the bus, sitting through what felt like the 7 longest hours of class, and then constantly looking at the clock during twelfth period just to see the clock ticked by one minute. For the past three years we have been herded around like flock of sheep, and now teachers are finally drilling in our heads its time to grow up. Yet there is still this eager feeling inside me to discover what senior year will bring me. Where will I attend college? What will the theme for prom be? Each day my mind is filled with more and more. In a way I cannot wait to get out into the real world, but everyday driving to school we pass the football field and my heart drops, graduation day. I am ready for the tears of happiness that will be shared on graduation day, but am I truly ready for the real world.
It took a vigorous 12 years to get me to this point in time in which I am highly confident that I will succeed greatly at college and whatever the future has to offer me. Many teachers have made a huge impact on my life and have prepared us. Teachers are just as parents nurturing us, but at some point in time they have to allow us to spread our wings and fly. The first two years of high school it felt as if we were still babies, but when junior year hit it as if we matured. Little did we know teachers walked us through life after all we are with them 7 or 8 hours everyday. Without their direction and education I would never feel ready to step out into the world but now I am. I am ready to go to college and major as an English teacher. I will never know if I will actually end up as an English teacher, but it’s my goal and I am willing to dedicate every bit of time and work to reach this goal. One thing I have learned about myself is I am constantly changing. For example, I started out wanting to be a lawyer, then I wanted to be a Nurse practitioner for the money, but what is the point of committing yourself to a job you honestly are just doing for the money. English class is where I feel most comfortable, and English is what I want to progress in. English class is not just a class to me but an oasis in which I can get things off my mind within and assignment. Of course, we always write papers and essays but this year I was introduced to blogs in the class of 204. A blog is a certain topic in which you write about yourself. I enjoy this because there is no right or wrong answer it’s a free write about your self that’s graded. Another thing I learned is not only have I changed but my friends have also, but in a great way. Over the years our clothing changed, our hobbies, our jobs, but one thing that has stayed the same is our friendship. I feel as if my friends are part of the reason in which I am where I am.
My friends are the people I always rely on to tell something. I am very close with my parents, but I can say for most teenagers you would rather confide in your friends rather then your parents. I have counted on friends to help with homework or cover for me at work. My friends’ are one in a million, but along with our friendship comes a lot of fear. In nearly, a year we will all be separated on our ways to different colleges and lifestyles, which indeed is a scary thing. I feel that with the support and direction of family and teachers I am ready to face college. My future is not set in stone, but I will be attending college in a year and studying English. No one knows where my future will bring me but life is like a beach things are constantly washed upon it you just need to search to find your options. This year in English I have this teacher who is totally different then I have had before. She doesn’t go by the guide lines she finds a way to get us involved through activities. I have learned more in these two weeks of school then I did all last year. I don’t know quite yet if it is the teacher, the activities, or the lesson we are being taught. So far we have focused on college and I feel I am more prepared then I ever. I am ready to write 10 page papers and to do tons of research. This year I hope I become a better writer in various different ways. I hope my vocabulary increases, and I start to read more. Reading is a key to life, when you read you receive information that could help in the future.
Finally, this year I want to verify the fact I am ready for college. I want to learn how to get an A on that English essay, or what it feels like to get a hundred on a pre-calc test, I want to attend all formals and proms. After all, this is my last year as a high school student time is running out, but at the same time life is just beginning.

Wow. Is basically the only word that comes to mind when I look back and see how everything has passed by so quickly. I remember just walking into Oakcrest not knowing what to expect. Were the teachers going to be tough? Were the classes going to be too hard? Was I going to see any of my old friends? So many questions filled my head and were all slowly answered as the 4 years went by. I feel its kind of a relief that it is my senior year and I’m finally done, but also kind of sad that all the memories are just going to be memories now once I step out of Oakcrest. And that’s what I think is going to be the saddest part, realizing that your most likely not going to see the people you've seen everyday for the past 4 years and you wont be able to come back to this moment in time not to be able to goof around anymore, just because everything is going to be more serious. I’m also pretty anxious because even though they say the adult life is hard, I’m more than willing to take up challenge, not because I HAVE to grow up, but because I want to (at least most of the time). And even though there is going to be a lot of paperwork to do. I can’t wait to do it. Some say that college is hard, and this and that, but I want to see it for myself before I start judging it. However, I don’t think I’m fully prepared yet to go into the world, but hopefully I’m always going to have my best friend with me and my close relatives around to help me get through, since most of them have been through my footsteps. One of the most important things I think I learned here at Oakcrest was that you have to do what you want to do, and not let anyone influence your opinions, because then you have no one to blame but yourself if things don’t come out the way you want them to. And don’t rely on nobody except yourself because you can tell yourself to do something over and over but when you put the responsibility on some else your most likely to something completely different than what you bargained for. Right now, I have most of my future plans set out, its just matter of actually getting started now. I just hope that as soon as I step out of Oakcrest I have my life set. And since I’m the first in my family to actually want to attend college and get a degree I want to make sure I’m prepared to do it. So that means, no slacking, and trying to reach my fullest potential, because I only have this year, and I don’t think I’m going to throw it away that easy.

Senior year is here! I could never imagine myself being in my senior year of high school. I still remember incidents from freshmen year when I got lost trying to find the cafe. Senior year is a little different then any other year. It is now time for me to become mature and come up with a plan for my future. As great as that sounds, one part of me is scared half to death, the other side of me is ready. I want to explore the world and meet new people. Just turning eighteen and knowing I'm consider a legal adult is crazy because I don't feel all grown up and ready to handle the "bills". I just know there is hard work ahead of me but in the end there are great rewards. I think the most important thing I have learned from myself is, do your own thing. It’s your future and a couple bad moves can make your future a lot harder then it has to be but it’s my life to live my way. You can't always think of what's good for the minute you have to keep the mind set of the long haul. Thinking about it, I had chances to play sports and excel or put more effort into school but I didn’t. My family has played a big role in my life, they have saved me from a lot of trouble and keeping me on the right path. I know whatever my endeavors are my mom will be there, backing me up 100percent. No matter how bad I mess up I will always have my support system waiting for me at home. I have a plan for my future but I will stay opened minded along my journey. I want to attend a music school and study music. I will grow up and become a studio musician and play gigs for extra cash. Why should I be stuck at an office or construction site miserable when I can be doing a job I love? I know when I grow up I won’t be doing a job everyday that I will be moaning about. My last year at Oakcrest I just want to be a nice stress free year. English class I have more to say. I m really trash at writing and it usually takes me probably double the time then most people to write something. I can remember from grade school that I struggled in English. Since I m going to college I want to become more comfortable with my writing. I want to be able to bust out a paper and not be stressed out in class over doing an assignment. When I saw my senior schedule with the Teacher Bunje,C made me feel extremely relieved.

I have waited three long years to become a senior. I feel that I am finally ready to step out of the house and fulfill my own destiny. The choices I make this year will plan my whole future. I feel that my parents have prepared me enough that I am ready to face the world’s challenges. They helped me ready myself for the life that is ahead of me. I am somewhat anxious to leave the house. I am a little nervous about having to pay my own bills. I feel that I am ready for college. My plans for the future are not set yet. I plan on going to college so that I can have a better life and also make more money. I am still deciding on my major and ma job for after I graduate college. In the last four years I learned how to develop good study habits. I also learned how to find friends and not find associates. I learned that my family will support me with what ever I want to do. I hope out my last year of Oakcrest is the most memorable. I want to have fun but also stay focused on my studies. I also hope that the Boys Varsity Basketball team makes the playoffs. We have to continue Coach Lewis’s legacy. I hope to achieve in English class this year is to come out remembering how to write good essays and research papers. The past 3 years went by very fast. I remember when I first walked into Oakcrest hoping to make new friends and start to grow up. Now that I am a senior I have achieved both of those. The memories will be with me for a long time. The only think left to do is graduate from Oakcrest High School.

Wow! I can’t believe I’m finally a senior. It’s so shocking how quick the years of high school really went. It feels like not to long ago I entered Oakcrest as a tiny freshman saying O my god this is going to be the longest four years of my life. I have so many different views from where I stand right now. I’m anxious to get into the world and face the work world and anything else I have to complete in life, but I’m also scared. I don’t want to loose some of the talents I have gained at Oakcrest or the huge amount of friends I would be leaving behind. In my time I became the Drum Major of Oakcrest Band and a very fast runner and so much more. I may be excited to face everything, but in a way I don’t think I’m completely prepared. Little things like direction confused and not knowing what I need to cover every bill is what scares me. I honestly know what I want to do with my life once I get out, and I hope it goes through. I want to become a nurse and than go farther and be a traveling nurse while my boyfriend decided recently to follow me in the path. In my past 4 years here at the Oak I have learned so much about everything. One thing I learned about myself is somewhere inside I have the ability to do everything I was failing at completing the whole way. An important thing I learned about my family is that they really do care. Way back in middle school I never talked to anyone in my family cause I didn’t know they actually knew what I could do. I have encountered many challenges in High School and for the most part my family guided me through everything. Sadly, the lessons I learned about my friends are that you can’t trust many of them. There are maybe one or two people you can really vent to and drop your life on besides maybe a significant other. In my final year at the Oak, I hope to learn responsibilities I could be faced with once I enter the world and anything else I can be handed from a teacher or coach to help guide me along the correct track. Out of English this year, I hope to get to write the best college essays possible so I can get to where I want to go and with good grades and writing skills!

It’s been four long exhausting years in Oakcrest High School and I can finally say that it is all coming to an end, at last. I have to say being a senior is exciting yet scary at the same time. All my hard work that I’ve dedicated towards school since I was a first grader is soon going to be paid off with a diploma. Oakcrest High School was never my favorite place in the world, but it’s going to be hard to say goodbye to the friends and teachers that have helped me get through these last four years. Life is much like a novel every chapter has an ending, but with every ending starts a new beginning. Am I ready for a new beginning? I'm not sure. Everyone knows that once high school is over its time to grow up and start your "life." I think I’m prepared for the changes to come although tomorrow is never guaranteed so for now I’m just going to take life day by day. As for the future I plan to continue on to college after high school and go to nursing school. Even though Oakcrest isn’t my favorite place to be, I can definitely say I’m going to take a lot of memories and knowledge with me when I graduate. Every year at the OHS I’ve grown into a better and stronger person. I’ve made my share of mistakes through out my four years of high school but thanks to my friends, certain teachers (Ms, Bunje), and my family I can graduate this year with a more grown up perception on life, I can graduate as a woman. This being my final year at Oakcrest I hope to take everything that I’ve learned in the past four years and embrace it and apply all my knowledge to my future. For three years I’ve had you, Ms, Bunje, as my English teacher and I have to say you’ve made me into a better writer, and helped me become a more accomplished successful person. It’s an honor to have had you as an English teacher and I can’t wait to see what new profound teachings you’ll bless me with this year.

I seriously can’t believe that senior year is finally here. I honestly never thought this day would come, but it did, and I feel kind of unprepared. I still have no clue what college I want to go to, or what I want to do with my life. So, basically I’m completely scared of senior year because I feel as if all these huge decisions are being thrown onto me and I still feel like a freshman. But, if I were to go to college right now and be on my own, I think I would be able to make it. This past summer I didn’t need to rely on my parents much at all, and I did fine. Though college is completely different from what my summer was like, I have confidence I can do it. When I start to think about how in one year I can be on my own, in a school with nobody I know, and taking extremely hard classes, I feel excited yet scared. I feel excited because I love change and I hear nothing but good things about college. But I’m scared because I know that I won’t be able to find the friends I have now anywhere else. I majority of my time is spent with them, and I know I’ll be missing them when I leave. I know it doesn’t seem like a big deal to most people, and this shouldn’t be one of my biggest worries, but it is, and I’m going to be completely upset what I have to leave.
Over the past four years, I learned so many things about myself and close ones in my life. One of them being what kind of people that I want and need in my life. My friends and I grew up together in high school and I basically know them inside-out. High school made most of us meet and looking back to freshman year and then now, I don’t know what I would have done without them. What I learned about my family is that if I ever need them, all I have to do is ask. They are very dependable and always do whatever they can to help me out so I can achieve what I want. I no longer have to obey every order each and every one tells me and their okay with that. I love them all so much, but now the baby of the family will be graduating soon, and I know they would support me with whatever decisions I have to make. What I learned about myself is how to be a good student. In middle school, my grades were not my top priority. I’ve learned good study habits since High School, and how to improve myself when needed, And, I learned who the real me is. When I was younger, I really didn’t know who I was. I didn’t care that much and I’ve changed a lot since then. So many experiences that I’ve had made me who I am today. If it wasn’t for a high school experience, I probably wouldn’t know myself too well.
What I hope to get out of my last year at Oakcrest, is a year to remember. I’ve had some pretty good times throughout high school, but I want to look back and remember my senior year topped it all. For instance, I want to look back and remember this is the year and know this is when I got my college acceptance letter. I want to remember that I accomplished many things this year, and that my future could have all started here. And, I want to remember that I had the most fun this year. This is my last year to live it up with my best friends, and I don’t want it to go to waste. Out of English class, I want to remember that I learned a lot of useful things needed for college. I can honestly say that every English class I’ve had in High School was extremely fun. My teachers were great and taught me so much while having a fun time. I want that to happen this year too, but I want to leave this specific English class and know I’m prepared for college.

For as many years as I can remember I have always wanted to say that I am a senior. But honestly I'm very nervous, scared, and hopeful about this year and what's after this for me. With every day short day that goes by my palms start to sweat and I get nervous knowing that I will never be a student attending Oakcrest again. I get nervous knowing that I might never see all of the people in school that I have grown to care greatly for. I question if I am ever close to ready to go off into the world. I do not even know if I will ever truly be ready to be in the real world. Honestly change is problem word for me. When my life changes I have no choice but to be prepared. During the past four years I've discovered who my real friends are and how they act in certain situations. I've learned somewhat of who I am but I am still hazey on somethings. My plans for the future are almost completely set. I've decided on a degree in chemical engineering and I believe it will be a good career choice. My biggest problems so far are paying for college and what school to go to.Besides that I am pretty sure that I have most of my future set. My last year just saying those words sound so strange when they come out of my mouth. There is so much I still have to do but so little time to do it. I expect so much this year that it might be unreasonable. I want this last year to be the year that I remember, the end all be all of school. This is the year I will hang out with my friends all the time, relax and go to the prom. I plan on knowing what I will do with the rest of my life and how I am going to do it. I plan on enjoying every day of my senior year to the fullest.I plan on soaking in every bit of knowledge before it is time to leave. By the end of English class this year I expect to learn how to write essays with extended metaphors as well as write a good college application essay. But I would really love to find out who I am.

It’s been four long years since we all stepped through the door as freshman to this school. We were filled with wonders, fears, questions, and even anxiousness. We proceeded on through-out the days taking our own turns and paths in order to get by. Now the end approached and a very serious question rises to the occasion? “What the heck do we do after this?” The very question seems to hover about in the minds of all teens as we prepare our leave of this place.

I am no different from the rest in this process. I find myself slightly fearful as the end of this year draws closer and closer. Already the first month is coming to an end and yet the plans still remain under construction. I’m confident that I am not the only one facing this issue of fear as the real worlds prepares to deliver the cruel slap of reality to us all. Once we leave here, our education, our future rests in our hands alone. Needless to say this is just a little frightening. College, trade school, straight to work? Millions of option rise up as we are handed our diplomas, but we can truly only pick one way. I myself plan to start in Stockton and then to transfer out later on. From there all is a mystery to me, but I do plan to major in a math or science field somewhere. Sometimes I wish picking could be a bit simpler honestly.

During this final stand at Oakcrest, I hope to receive the last of the needed preparations for college. From recommendations, to advice, the school offers it all and now is the time to take advantage of it all. What we take from this year is what we will remember as “the ending of our childhood career.” I only hope we can all make it a positive one. The same applies for the English class, however we all know that there is nothing to worry about there. From what we’ve all seen, we know that getting through here will not be possible without some sort of planning; the teacher has made sure of that. However it is only further encouragement.

So without further ado; what are we waiting for? Our senior year awaits us. The end of the line, the finale, our last stand at Oakcrest High. Let’s make it count and dive into our future.

Senior year, something that every high school student looks forward to in some way, shape, or form. The first day of school was exciting as usual but now that we have all settled in and I realized that I am finally here I’ve come to see senior year isn’t all its cracked up to be. As for the future I feel a little ill prepared and scared. I feel as though I’m not going to get done what I need to get done in time and my whole life is going to fall apart as a result. Ultimately I’m scared of failure.
In the past four years of my high school career I have learned a great deal about myself. I have learned that no matter what challenges are thrown at me I can and will overcome them. I’ve also learned who my true friends are and I am grateful to have them around. With these friends along with my family I feel that I can make it in the world with a little confidence, but of course none of this could even be possible without the kind and wise words of Bunje. Although some of us might not see it Ms. Bunje does everything she can to help us and better prepare us for the future and whatever unexpected twists and turns that may occur along the way.

SEINOR YEAR!?!? SENIOR YEAR!?!?! wOw i'm with Deanna on this one. I really cannot believe it here. I remember walking into oakcrest freshman year not knowing anyone or even where anything was. Even though I remember it like it was yesterday, you could surly say i've grown since that freshman September. It always seemed as if I would have never be able I was a senior and like 09' would never comes but it's really here. And even though I dreamed this day since forever. "no I really mean forever" I don't want it to come. We all have said we F*$K hate the oak, but wants we leave where done. We don't get those second chances at making high school what we've all wished it to be, not to make thing right with your old biffles (best friends) at high school just happened to led you's down different path. Nor say I'm sorry to all those people you talk about you know those ones I'm talking about!!!! The ones we talked about to make are selves seem cooler!!!"
I'm not only sorry about all the things I would take back I'm also scared to leave. This has been it, for the last four years to me. And even though i had some really good years i've also I have bad ones. But I don't think I'm readily to go yet. Maybe when we get closer to the day that while change but for now I'm not.
I really ant to sure where I exactly want to go, all I know farsure is that ACCC and, STOCKEN are completely out of the question! I would love to go somewhere in with I know it would be affordable and not too far either.
